JOB SUMMARY OF OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Functional Consultant combines deep industry knowledge with deep Clarity product expertise to provide customers with guidance and thought leadership on how to attain maximum strategic value and return on their investment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help customers maximize strategic business values from the Clarity products they have purchased by providing them with a vision of their end state solution and a roadmap to get there.
• Provide customers with industry expertise, best practices, and thought leadership in helping them define their future state processes.
• Analyze customers business requirements, needs, and objectives and map them to the Clarity processes, solutions and modules that are being implemented.
• Configure the Clarity application to meet customers functional and technical specifications.
• Guide customers in best practice methodologies related to IT Service Management
• Perform proofs of concept to help validate the value of the Clarity solution being proposed
• Analyze and solve complex customer issues involving both data and processes
• Work closely with the presales, professional services, and support teams to ensure a seamless transition through the customer lifecycle

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL preferred; XML and HTML a plus
• Subject matter expertise in the following areas (the more, the better): IT Portfolio Management, Program Management, Project Management, Resource Management, and Project Accounting
• PMP certification a plus
• Ability to understand customer business problems and clearly formulate and articulate software solutions to solve those problems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Live near a major airport and be willing to travel between 75% to 100%

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Minimum Qualifications -

• 7+ years experience working for top tier management consulting firm (Big 5 preferred) and/or for a top tier software vendor (SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Oracle preferred) performing enterprise application consulting
• 5+ years IT experience, specifically in the areas of Strategy & Operations, the Program Management Office, or Finance
• Experience with ABT, NIKU, Clarity or any other PPM suites/tools
• Experience in facilitation of Joint Analysis & Design (JAD) sessions
